Hello! My name is Nicole Young and I am the School Social Worker. A little bit about me: I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Tennessee State University and received my Master’s degree in School Counseling, as well as a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Lindenwood University. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings and gained experience from all of them. It is a part of my nature to care for others; helping to make their lives better and happier.
I work with students on different levels based on their needs. I help students to: 1)obtain social, and emotional support, 2) become resilient, successful learners, 3) gain personal and social skills, and cope in times of crisis. As a school social worker I also help parents to: participate effectively in their child’s education, understand educational and developmental needs of their child and access school and community resources.
